Roasted Garlic White Chicken Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 cloves roasted garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup skim milk
  • ¼ cup half and half
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ cups boneless skinless chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced
  • ¾ cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or grease and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced roasted garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for an additional 1 minute until well blended.
  4. Slowly whisk in the skim milk and half and half. Mix in the black pepper.
  5. Cook the sauce for about 3 minutes, stirring continuously, until it starts to thicken. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  6. Roll out the pizza dough into a roughly 12-inch circle on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the white sauce over the dough evenly.
  7. Top the sauce with cooked and shredded chicken, diced red onion, and Mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 17 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh thyme, dried oregano, and fresh parsley.
