Hamburger Steaks with Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients

Hamburger Steaks:

– 1 pound lean ground beef
– 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, divided
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ½ teaspoon pepper

Mushroom Gravy:

– 2 teaspoons olive oil
– 8 oz mushrooms (crimini or baby bella), sliced
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, 1 ½ teaspoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, swirling to coat. Cook the hamburger patties for 3 minutes on each side. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to brown.
4. In a small bowl, mix together the chicken broth and flour.
5. Pour the chicken broth mixture into the skillet with the mushrooms. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
6. Return the hamburger steaks to the skillet. Cook for an additional 4 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
7. Serve the Hamburger Steaks with Mushroom Gravy immediately, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Enjoy!
