Chinese Onion Pepper Steak

Ingredients

– 1.5 pounds of beef strips
– 1 green bell pepper, sliced thick
– 1/2 onion, minced thickly
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 1/2 cups of beef broth
– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
– 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
– 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
– 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

Instructions

1. Place the beef, peppers, and onions in an electric pressure cooker.
2. Add seasoning, brown sugar, and soy sauce to the beef and peppers.
3. Pour beef broth into the Instant Pot, stirring to combine.
4. Secure the lid and ensure it is closed, then set the pressure to high for approximately 15 minutes.
5. When it’s done, perform a quick release (or choose a natural release if you prefer the steak to crumble).
6. Remove the cover and press the Cancel button. Switch the pressure cooker to sauté mode.
7. In a separate bowl, mix 1/4 cup of cold water with a teaspoon of cornstarch. Stir the pepper steak mixture into the Instant Pot.
8. Bring to a boil for 3 to 5 minutes.
