Brownie Refrigerator Cake

Ingredients


– 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box)
– 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed, divided
– 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) chocolate instant pudding mix
– 3 cups cold milk
– Chocolate shavings or curls for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Brownie Layer
1.1. Preheat oven as directed on the brownie mix box.
1.2. Prepare and bake the brownies in a 9×13-inch pan according to package instructions.
1.3. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.

2. Make the Cream Cheese Layer
2.1. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
2.2. Fold in half of the whipped topping.
2.3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled brownie layer.

3. Chocolate Pudding Layer
3.1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mixes and cold milk until thickened.
3.2. Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.

4. Top and Chill
4.1. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the chocolate pudding layer.
4.2. Garnish with chocolate shavings or curls.
4.3. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to set.
