Butter Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon whiskey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until well combined. Add the egg yolks, whiskey, and vanilla, mixing until thoroughly blended.
  3. Gradually incorporate sifted all-purpose flour along with baking powder and salt, alternating with the milk.
  4. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, and gently fold them into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Unmold the cake while still warm.
