Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cups cooked pasta (such as penne or rotini)
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, diced ham, and cooked pasta. Spread this mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken and ham in the baking dish.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture turns golden brown.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Once the sauce is smooth and thick, remove it from the heat and stir in 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese until melted.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken, ham, and pasta in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is golden brown on top.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
