Easy 30-Minute Chicken Chow Mein

Ingredients

– 12 ounces chow mein noodles
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 pound chicken breast, thinly sliced
– 3 cups shredded cabbage
– 1 cup julienned carrots
– 1/2 cup sliced green onions

For the Sauce:


– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
– 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
– 2 teaspoons sesame oil
– 1 teaspoon sugar
– 2 teaspoons cornstarch
– 1/4 cup water

Instructions

Cook Noodles:
Boil chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.

Cook Chicken:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Cook Vegetables:
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the same skillet. Stir-fry the cabbage, carrots, and green onions until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Combine Ingredients:
Return the chicken to the skillet and add the cooked noodles. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss to coat evenly.

Cook and Serve:
Stir-fry everything together for 2-3 minutes until heated through and the sauce thickens slightly. Serve hot.
