Homemade Glazed Doughnuts

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup milk, warmed
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
– 1 egg, beaten
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Oil for frying

For the Glaze:

– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 3-4 tablespoons milk
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2- Add the beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla to the mixture. Gradually mix in the flour to form a soft dough.
3- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
4- Roll out the dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out doughnuts using a doughnut cutter.
5- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
6- Fry the doughnuts in batches until they turn golden brown. Then, drain them on paper towels.
7- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
8- Dip each doughnut into the glaze and let them set on a wire rack.

Enjoy!
