Ingredients
– 1 gallon apple juice
– 1 gallon apple cider
– 4 cinnamon sticks
– 1 cup white sugar
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 10 Jolly Rancher candies (each color/flavor)
Instructions
1. In a large pot, combine the apple juice, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, white sugar, and brown sugar.
2. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a boil.
3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
4. While the mixture is simmering, unwrap the Jolly Rancher candies and sort them by color/flavor.
5. After the mixture has simmered, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
6. Once cooled slightly, add the Jolly Rancher candies to the pot. Stir until the candies have completely dissolved.
7. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
8. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any candy residue or cinnamon sticks.
9. Pour the strained liquid into clean, sterilized mason jars or bottles.
10. Seal the jars or bottles tightly and store them in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks to allow the flavors to meld and develop.
11. After 2 weeks, your Jolly Rancher Moonshine is ready to enjoy! Serve chilled or over ice, and enjoy responsibly.
